Trots op onze collega Ivar Bergmans, die naast zijn bijdrage aan de onderzoekslijn circulaire gebouwtechnologie ook een belangrijke stap heeft gezet in het ontwikkelen van het onderwijs binnen dat thema. Hij heeft een workshop ontwikkelt voor bouwkunde studenten waarbij zij zelf kunnen ervaren wat het betekent om circulair te bouwen.
De studenten hebben door middel van het construeren van een maquette zelf kunnen ervaren (letterlijk!) hoeveel tijd het kost om in situ te bouwen, of met pregefabriceerde elementen. Ook hebben ze meer inzicht gekregen in de beperkingen van ‘lineaire’ stabelbouw en de technische levensduur van materialen.
Dit is waar wij als lectoraat voor staan: het tastbaar en behapbaar maken van ontwikkelingen en innovaties voor studenten. Het is namelijk ontzettend belangrijk om hen klaar te stomen tot professionals van de toekomst.
Proud of our colleague Ivar Bergmans, who, in addition to his contribution to the circular building technology research line, has also taken an important step in developing education within that theme. He has developed a workshop for construction students where they can experience for themselves what it means to build circularly.
By constructing a maquette, the students were able to experience for themselves (literally!) how much time it takes to build in situ, or with prefabricated elements. They also gained more insight into the limitations of ‘linear’ table construction and the technical lifespan of materials.
This is what we stand for as a research center: making developments and innovations tangible and manageable for students, because it is important to prepare them to become professionals of the future.
