Inspired by science and educated as an architect and structural engineer, Eric enjoys exploring how (complex) mechanisms actually work and can be improved. As the father of two sons, he also sees the urgency to transform our predominantly linear thinking and behaviour into a (more) circular way of life. To put his words into action, he joined SURD in 2021 where he is involved in research on circular building and product design. To better measure and understand the circular performance of existing and new products and systems, he has contributed to an improved and more detailed life cycle analysis regarding material, energy and carbon flows.
